R E S T

On Saturday 1^st April 2023 from 8:00pm at the All Saints’ Anglican Church in Port of Spain, Chandelier Productions will present ‘R E S T’ under the musical direction of conductor and composer, Michael Hudlin. We hope to share the passion of performing artists with our audiences through a message that reminds us that even through the pursuit of any goal or passion, we must take a moment to rest. This programme also draws from its Latin translation and tradition of a Requiem which is a mass done in memorial for those who have died. It follows the idea of death and mourning through Bach’s Cantata 106 ‘Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit’, which translates to ‘God’s time is the best time’ and continues, showing the joy of entering heaven while those who are left behind sing in hope of being able to join their loved ones who have gone before them.

‘R E S T’ will feature choral and solo performances of classical and spiritual music in a programme that is designed to convey a feeling of rest to all who experience it. Our stellar cast of vocal professionals includes, Adafih Padmore, Samantha Stanislaus, Diahann White, Gabrielle Tull, Edward Cumberbatch, Carl-Anthony Hines, Isaiah Alexander, and Christopher Thomas. Accompaniment will be provided by Martina Chow and Kayla Persad on flute and features Jessel Murray on keyboard.
